What is the connecting rod assembly made of

Release time: 2022-12-27

The connecting rod is an integral part of the piston connecting rod mechanism, which includes the shaft, bearing cap (pad cap) bolts, bearing (small pad) and piston pin bushing (copper sleeve). The connecting rod is a key component that directly relates to the durability or reliability of the engine. During warranty, pay attention to whether the following components of the connecting rod are normal.
(1) The fuel injection hole of the connecting rod head shall not be blocked, and the small hole shall face the right side of the engine and shall not be reversed. Whether the large or small face of the connecting rod, the direction of the oil hole shall prevail, otherwise the oil on the piston pin will be insufficient, which will increase the wear of the pin and the copper sleeve.
(2) The center lines of the big and small socket holes of the connecting rod shall be parallel to each other. The allowable error of the distance between the big and small socket holes and the center line is 0.05mm within 100mm, and 0.10mm within 100mm. If it exceeds the above allowable range, it shall be corrected and adjusted; otherwise, the piston crown height is inconsistent, affecting the compression ratio, resulting in unbalanced power and unstable operation. It is also due to the bending of the connecting rod.
The piston is stuck in the cylinder, which increases the wear of the piston, piston ring and cylinder wall, and seriously affects the cylinder pressure. A group of connecting rod bearing holes with large center and large length error may confuse connecting rods in similar engines, which often happens in overhaul plants. If it is not corrected in time, it will not only make the compression ratio inconsistent, but also affect the positioning center of cutting connecting rod bearing and cutting connecting rod copper sleeve.
(3) The twist of the connecting rod must not exceed the tolerance. The big end socket hole and the small end socket hole are not parallel and twisted on a length of 100mm. 05 mm, that is, if there is an included angle between the two centerlines, it shall be corrected. After the engine is disassembled, it is better to remove the bearing and copper sleeve and correct them according to the end face of the connecting rod. Otherwise, the piston will run in the cylinder (TDC of the piston is on one side and BDC is on the other side). piston
If normal reciprocating movement cannot be conducted in the cylinder, the piston, piston ring and cylinder wall will be severely worn, causing cylinder pulling and knocking.
